First year as a registered charity for

Bolton Community First Responders

Bolton community first responders mark a year as a registered charitable incorporated organisation which has developed through the hard work and commitment of all volunteer members.

This has been a very busy year for the charity and its members. We have worked hard to get to where we are now, considering the pressures during the pandemic.

We are also thankful to everyone including our sponsors who have continued to support BCFR.

We hope that 2022 will see us growing and bring new things to the charity throughout this year.

Why more people are encouraged to

learn CPR Basics

Approximately 30,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests happen in this country every year. It is very sad though to learn that less than 1 in 10 people survive such an event.

The more people who are able to deliver life saving CPR skills can potentially double the chances of a person surviving a cardiac arrest.

CPR buys the person time until a life saving defibrillator can be used and given the statistics which show nearly 80% of out of hospital cardiac arrests happen in the home, every family  should learn the basics.

Bolton Community First Responders out on form during Queens Platinum Jubilee

Many of our Volunteer responders spent three days during the Queens platinum Jubilee weekend within there local community teaching members of the public vital life saving skills such as cpr and the use of a defibrillator. This also gave the charity the chance to promote the work that BCFR does and the opportunity for members of the public to fine out more about us. The team hope to hold many other community engagement events to promote the charity and to promote life saving skills.

Bolton Kia continue to support Bolton Community First Responders

One of our main sponsors Kia Bolton has decided to keep supporting the charity by donating us another new car after our 6 month trial. This is a valuable asset to the charity which will enable us to get to our patients in all terrain due to its 4x4 capability. Our chair Colin kindly received the car at the Bolton Kia  branch.

PARAMEDIC STAFF RESPONDER CALLED TO ASSIST A INJURED CHILD

One of our paramedic responders has been busy attending to an injured child, who suffered a serious fall whilst out walking and due to the remote location, mountain rescue were brought into assist. Fortunately the injuries turned out not to be very serious, but fantastic multi agency working together
